My name is Mike Turner. Yes, I’m an investor. I run an investment company. But I’m a human, first. In that picture above, that is my wife Amanda, and my girls, Ivy and Emilia. Back in 2008, 09, 10 I found myself in a great amount of financial uncertainty. I was a full-time real estate agent and I had recently opened up my own real estate brokerage in 2007, right before the market slide off a cliff. Our only household income at the time was from real estate, and with everything that was happening with the financial crisis, I was on the verge of losing everything. My kids were just babies then and like many American families my income was disappearing and the possibility of us losing our home was real threat. So I needed to reinvent myself. What I learned during this time was how to help families, like my own, to escape financial hardships through creative real estate solutions. I never intended to be doing what my company does now, but people kept seeking us out. I’m grateful and honored, to be able to help the families we do.

Impact & Purpose Above Profit: Mike Turner is the co-founder of ImpactClub® Boise. To date, more than $250,000 has been donated to local charities!
ImpactClub® was born out of frustration. The fact is, people, want to do more to impact the lives of others, but they don’t know-how. This was especially true for me. So with some entrepreneurial friends, we devised the concept of ImpactClub®. We set out to build a community of like-minded folks, locally, who wanted to invest in our local charities. On May 29th, 2017, the first-ever ImpactClub® Boise event took place. That night, in just 1 hour, our members donated over $10,000 to Woman’s and Children’s Alliance, and since then we come together once a quarter to continue to deliver measurable impact to our community.
WOMEN’S AND CHILDREN’S ALLIANCE
“For every shift our paramedics work, and they’re on 13 paramedic teams, they see one domestic violence call. Every week, one of these calls is attempted strangulation. Yes, we deal with this in Ada County.” – Beatrice Black – Women’s and Children’s Alliance.
That was just one of the chilling but true facts we heard from Beatrice Black at our last Impact Club Boise event. The WCA took home over $11,000 after that night, because our Impact Club of 115 members (at that time) donated $100 each, to crowd source this amazing financial gift to the WCA. The Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) provides safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. All services are provided at no charge to those most vulnerable in our community who have suffered the trauma of physical, emotional, sexual or psychological abuse at the hands of someone who many times has professed to love them.
Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Living
Founded in 2001, Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Living responds to the overwhelming needs of women coming out of incarceration, addiction, abuse and homelessness who are seeking a new way to live. Chrysalis is an environment where women take the necessary steps away from their former destructive lifestyles, toward independence, healing and freedom, through transitional living, support, accountability, structure and safety. The goals and dreams of displaced women are thwarted when they have nowhere to return to, but to their former destructive environments. Sarah Hill with Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Living, spoke at Boise’s IMPACT CLUB event and helped earn Chrysalis $15,000 to aid in providing additional housing for women who a need safe and supported place to turn to in our community.
